Purpose of study: study of sedimentation conditions and modeling of paleogeographic settings in the Antarctic Peninsula area around the Ukrainian Antarctic Station "Akademik Vernadsky" in the Late Pleistocene - Holocene time. The work summarizes the results of previous studies of bottom sediments and paleogeographic reconstructions around the Antarctic Peninsula. Morphometric analysis methods were applied to identify the positions of tectonic canyons and paleovalleys of different ages. Studies of bottom sediment columns were performed using granulometric, geochemical and micropaleontological methods. Paleofacial analysis of bottom sediments was carried out and paleogeographic reconstructions were made for different stages of the exit of the Argentine Islands area from the last glacial period. Geomorphological and morphometric modeling of the underwater relief of the Argentine Islands area and the adjacent part of the Penola Strait allowed to build a series of maps and identify areas where bottom sediments accumulate. In terms of lithology, the bottom sediments in the Penola Strait area are represented by silty mud with admixtures of sand and fragments of crystalline rocks. Geochemical studies have shown a variation of both petrogenic elements and microcomponents. As a result of micropaleontological studies of bottom sediments from the Penola Strait, eighty species taxa of siliceous microflora (diatoms and silicoflagellates) belonging to 38 genera were identified. Reconstructions of the facies distribution of bottom sediments and paleogeographic settings of the Argentine Islands area showed that the last glacial period was marked by a significant ice cover. Morphometric and geomorphological modeling of the underwater relief allowed us to identify 3 levels - 100, 54, and 12 meters below the current position of the coastline.
