Using molecular markers, winter bread wheat genotypes carrying the genes Sr2, Sr33, Sr39, and Sr40 were selected in F3–F6 ear populations obtained from various combinations of crosses between spring lines and commercial winter wheat cultivars as well as facultative varieties. Protein electrophoresis of grain identified the alleles of major prolamin loci Gli-A1, Gli-B1, Gli-D1, Glu-A1, Glu-B1, and Glu-D1 in the parental forms. Among the spring parental lines studied, alleles associated with a high level of baking quality were detected: Glu-B1al, Glu-D1d, as well as Glu-B1b and Glu-B1i. In line DH31, an allele of Gli-D1 originating from Ae. tauschii was found, linked to a dark color of the glume. Among the winter lines developed with the involvement of Canadian spring wheat material, the presence of the Sr2 gene was identified, confirmed by the molecular marker csSr2. Using the markers caISBP1 and caSNP12, carriers of the resistance allele of the Sr57 gene were identified among the lines previously selected for the presence of Sr33. The frequency of carriers of the combination of the two resistance alleles was low in the material from both crossing combinations: 29% and 11%, respectively. The resistance allele of the target gene Sr33 was predominantly associated with the susceptibility allele of Sr57. Among the F4, F5, and F6 plants, genotypes were selected based on plant architecture: genotypes with a compact spike were mainly derived from the crosses DK20 × Samurai, DK20 × Myrkhad, and DH31 × Myrkhad, while dwarf genotypes were noted among the crosses DH-G76-54 × Zymoiarka and DK20 × Samurai. The presence of the target genes in the selected lines was confirmed using molecular markers. Grain of the selected lines was analyzed for storage protein loci. The highest bread-making quality score (12) was recorded in the F6 lines the cross DH31 × Myrhad. Product Description popup.authors Blium Rostyslav Ya. Karelov Anatolii Valeriyovich Shysha Olena M.
