To create breeding material with improved biological indicators, adapted to stressful environmental conditions. popup.description2 The main objective of the study was to develop initial breeding material with increased yield and complex resistance to abiotic and biotic stresses. To achieve this goal, intraspecific hybridization, individual selection, and variation–statistical analysis were applied. During 2024–2025, a significant amount of breeding material was studied in experimental nurseries: 500 lentil lines, 360 grass pea (Lathyrus) lines, and 300 bean lines. A total of 800 artificial pollinations were performed, resulting in a series of hybrid combinations. Promising lines were identified that demonstrated high productivity: in lentils, the yield of certain lines reached 241 g/m²; in grass pea — over 400 g/m²; and in beans, samples were consistently distinguished by a high 1000-seed weight and productivity of up to 37 g per plant. Based on the results, 11 lentil lines, 7 grass pea lines, and 8 bean lines were developed, whose yields exceeded the standard by more than 10%, and they are recommended for further use in breeding programs. Scientific and methodological recommendations for the breeding of lentils, grass pea, and beans were developed, which can be used to accelerate the breeding process.
