A new contribution has been made to the development of the concept of sedimentation-oxidation-sorption decontamination of liquid radioactive media of nuclear power plants. 2. A theoretical basis has been laid for the development of mathematical models and parameters of radionuclide sorption in multicomponent solutions. 3. The specificity and nature of the consequences of the impact on the insulating properties of natural and industrially modified bentonites of the Cherkasy deposit in the case of degradation of concrete-cement structures of engineering barrier systems of surface/near-surface radioactive waste storage facilities have been revealed. 4. Technologies for the synthesis of new nanocomposite sorbents for the selective removal of radionuclides from radioactive waste have been developed. Materials based on the ferrocyanide phase have been created for the effective removal of cesium and strontium radionuclides. 5. A fundamentally new innovative physicochemical technology for the synthesis of nanomaterials and nanocomposites has been developed and on this basis highly effective multipurpose sorbents for the purification of radioactive waste have been created. The mechanism of formation of a nanocomposite and the method of its synthesis have been proposed. 6. A number of special sorbents have been developed for the purification of radioactive waste, for which Ukrainian patents have been obtained. 7. The use of alkaline cements for the conditioning of radioactive waste of Ukrainian NPPs to ensure long-term safety of disposal has been theoretically and experimentally confirmed 8. A draft technical specification has been developed for the packaging of joint conditioning of containers with salt melt in a geocement matrix containing radioactive salts. 9.
