Modified montmorillonite was added to paint coatings to prevent sub-film corrosion of polymer coatings on alloys. For this purpose, the natural raw material bentonite clay was previously purified and the mineral montmorillonite was modified. The inhibitory effect of pigmented coatings for protection against corrosion of aluminum alloy and carbon steel in an acid rain environment was studied using electrochemical impedance spectroscopy and tests in a climatic chamber.
