The object of research on the topic of the R&D is liquid metal multicomponent systems and processes for their refining from non-metallic inclusions. The subject of research on the topic of the R&D is the features of filtering liquid alloys using foam ceramic filters that are in the zone of action of crossed electromagnetic fields, for more effective removal of non-metallic inclusions, including immediately before the melt enters the casting mold or other metal receiver. The relevance of research on the topic of R&D is due to the fact that the technological, mechanical, operational, resource and special properties of alloys and critical cast products from them for the needs of high-tech equipment largely depend on the content and size of non-metallic inclusions. The idea of ​​research on the topic of R&D involves creating an electromagnetic pressure gradient in the pores of a ceramic filter normal to the flow vector and increasing on this basis the ability of the filter to retain non-metallic inclusions, including particles with sizes much smaller than the pores of the filter. The main objectives of research on the topic of R&D are to study the influence of electromagnetic factors on the behavior of non-metallic inclusions during the flow of liquid alloys through the pores of foam ceramic filters and to develop on this basis technological schemes and practical recommendations for refining metal melts. Research methods within the framework of R&D involve the use of theoretical analysis, engineering calculations, physical modeling, full-scale experiments on liquid aluminum alloys, as well as studying the structure and properties of the obtained cast alloy samples.
