Purpose of the work: development of mathematical models for studying the relationship between electromagnetic fields and defects in a ferromagnetic cylinder and creation of methods and devices for detecting corrosion and mechanical damage to metal under coatings. Research methods – mathematical modeling, analysis and calculations, algorithms and programs, selection and processing of measurement information, methods and devices for non-destructive testing and diagnostics of metal structures. A method for controlling the corrosion protection of underground pipelines using non-contact current measurements has been proposed. A mathematical model of the magnetic field of a pipe with metal defects has been developed; calculations have investigated the influence of metal damage parameters on the nature of the field distribution; the possibility of detecting and identifying metal damage in pipelines has been shown. A magnetocyclic method and device have been developed for detecting and identifying corrosion and mechanical damage to metal under covers and pipeline branches. The scheme for forming and processing the signal of the diffuse light reflection sensor on a microcontroller has been modernized; informative signal features – signatures for determining the size of microdefects have been established, which can be used as a method for rapid classification of metal damage characteristics. The results of the research can be used in organizations of pipeline transportation of gas and oil, chemical industry products, water and gas supply networks, non-destructive testing and technical diagnostics.
