At the first stage, an information database of the rice gene pool was formed and new samples were added to the collection, in particular, six genotypes with a high level of economic and biological characteristics were introduced. According to the complex of grain quality indicators (film density <18.0%, cracking <10%, vitreousness >94%, total grain yield >65.0%, whole kernel yield >80.0%), samples UIR 6492 (UKR) and Gala (TUR) were selected. At the second stage, a specialized rice collection was formed by grain color, sources of valuable characteristics were identified, and requests for their registration were prepared. At the third stage, an educational rice collection was created by morphological characteristics and a corresponding request for registration was prepared. During the fourth stage, samples with increased grain size and high technological indicators of grain and grain quality were selected; The sources of grain size were identified as UIR 5741, UIR 6492 and UIR 0884 (1000-grain weight over 32.0 g). The best grain and groat quality indicators were established in the sample UIR 6492. At the fifth stage, rice breeding lines with increased grain size were created and promising samples UIR 4342, Ukraine 96, Viscount, UIR 5741, UIR 6404, UIR 6492 and Marshal were selected based on a complex of economically valuable traits.
