In the reaction of C-benzylation of mesitylene, the yield of the desired product increased with an increase in the strength of the acid sites, reaching a maximum value over FER zeolite (selectivity 70% at 44% conversion of mesitylene). A decrease in the catalytic activity of zinc and galliumsilicate zeolites of the ZSM-5 type compared to aluminosilicate analogues in the Diels-Alder condensation reaction between furfural and ethanol (500˚C, flow reactor) was found. The mentioned samples are inactive in the formation of aromatic compounds, instead the catalysts are active in the decarbonylation of furfural and dehydration. A set of aluminosilicate-supported Ru nanoparticles were synthesized and investigated in the hydrocracking of n-hexadecane in a continuous fixed-bed reactor with the aim of obtaining compounds related to jet fuel. Such materials exhibit high catalytic activity at relatively low temperatures (200–240 °C), forming mainly linear alkanes C10–C15. It was established that the determining factor influencing the reaction of obtaining adipic acid from tetrahydrofuran-1,5-dicarboxylic acid in the presence of iodide ions under hydrogen pressure is the strength and concentration of accessible Brønsted acid sites. Among the studied catalysts based on hydrogen forms of zeolites, mesoporous molecular sieves with grafted –Pr-SO3H groups, as well as sulfated or phosphated zirconium and titanium dioxides, the catalytic activity increases in the following order: HZt < ZrOSO3H < TiOSO3H < Si-Pr-SO3H < TiOPO3H < TiOSO3H, which is due to the increase in the strength of acid sites.
