The purpose of the work is to increase the effectiveness of the prevention of dental pathology in people with cognitive impairments by developing and substantiating the use of a supportive treatment and prevention complex of targeted general and local action. For the first time, a comprehensive approach to maintaining the dental health of people with cognitive impairments has been scientifically substantiated, а high prevalence of dental diseases, a significant decrease in salivation (xerostomia 66.7%), disturbances in regenerative and trophic processes of the mucous membrane, and specific features of the periodontal pocket microbiome were found; the important role of the caregiver is shown and significant correlations between clinical indicators (in particular, between the severity of periodontitis and age, CPV, and socioeconomic status) are revealed. The anti-inflammatory, periodontal protective, antioxidant, and antimicrobial properties of the proposed supportive complex have been proven in experiments and clinical trials, which significantly improved the quality of life of patients.
