The device protects household equipment from failures caused by voltage deviations, such as surges, sags, or neutral conductor breaks in single-phase networks. A key milestone was the successful PhD thesis defense in specialty 141 – Electrical Power Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Electromechanics. The core innovation lies in the implementation of adaptive protective characteristics according to the IEC 60255-127 standard. Unlike existing counterparts, the device allows a choice between dependent (inverse-time) and independent time delays. This ensures a selective response: the relay maintains operation during minor fluctuations but instantly disconnects the network during severe faults, minimizing false trips. To ensure measurement accuracy, a digital filtering algorithm based on the Fourier transform was developed to eliminate noise and sine wave distortions. Experimental results confirmed a measurement error within 0.21–0.69%, significantly outperforming serial production samples. The hardware is based on 32-bit Cortex M0+ and RISC-V cores. Using bistable relays eliminates heating and minimizes power consumption. The functionality is enhanced by Hall sensors for non-contact current and power monitoring. Integration of IoT (Bluetooth Low Energy) and machine learning enables the device to classify loads and monitor parameters via smartphone. The results are implemented in the educational process at NTU "KhPI" for specialty 141 students and at the production facilities of AVM AMPER LLC. The developed mathematical models and circuit solutions are utilized in creating new relay protection devices, confirming the high practical significance of the work.
