The research work is dedicated to the scientific justification and improvement of methodological and organizational principles for the formation, preservation, and representation of library collections in the context of digital transformation of library activities. The aim of the study is to develop effective models for depository and repository storage of library collections, ensuring long-term preservation and open access to scientific and informational resources. The object of the study is the library information activity of academic libraries, and the subject is the processes of formation, preservation, and digital representation of depository collections. The study applies analytical, historical-source, bibliographic, comparative, and systematic research methods. During the work, key aspects of modernizing the depository storage system of library collections were examined, which is an important step toward creating a modern agricultural information space that meets the challenges of the digital era. Digital thematic collections were created, the UkrAgroteka electronic catalog was updated, and innovative forms of collection representation were developed and implemented, including virtual thematic book exhibitions. The Omeka platform was mastered, and the project “Agricultural Digital Library” was launched. The results of the work include methodological recommendations for depository storage of library collections, improvement of online access to resources, and introduction of modern communication and service solutions. The obtained results can be used in the practical activities of specialized libraries, in scientific and informational support of agricultural science and education, and in the preservation of national cultural heritage under digitalization conditions.
