Establishing the patterns of formation processes and mechanisms of genetic control of traits of fodder bean plants (Vicia Faba L.), their relationship and manifestation in specific environmental conditions. Comprehensive assessment and selection of donor genotypes and sources of the main valuable economic traits, the seeds of which will be characterized by improved quality indicators and low levels of tannin for food and feed purposes.

A mechanism for genetic control of morpho-physiological traits of plants, their relationships, as well as their manifestation in specific environmental conditions has been established. For the period of 2021-2025, an assessment of 2714 breeding numbers was carried out, a collection of genetic sources and donors of valuable economic and morphological traits was formed, promising breeding material with comprehensive resistance to environmental stress factors, with increased seed quality indicators (including low tannin levels) with a grain yield of 3.24-3.72 t/ha, vegetation period of 86-96 days, and a protein content in grain of 28-31% in the completely dry substance was selected. The Albion and Avatar varieties of horse bean were transferred to the Ukrainian Institute for the Examination of Plant Varieties in 2025. The Winter and Jason varieties of horse beans were included into the Register of Plant Varieties Suitable for Distribution in Ukraine in 2022.
