The structural and technological solution for the load-bearing enclosing wall of an underground structure can be used most effectively in the construction of reliable protective structures and dual-purpose facilities. For the first time ever, a method for testing soils using piles, which are load-bearing structural elements of pile retaining walls, was developed and patented. This method allows testing to be carried out from the ground surface prior to the commencement of zero-cycle work and enables justified adjustments to be introduced to the design solution, usually with significant economic benefits. A comprehensive method was developed to assess the reliability of underground structures of dual-purpose facilities, which combines deterministic approaches and probabilistic-statistical methods and accounts for a wide range of factors such as explosive and seismic loads, dynamic and static stresses, hydrostatic pressure, soil loads, climatic conditions, and operational factors. The method can estimate the probability of reaching the limit state of a structure when exposed to load combinations and ensure the long-term reliability and safety of dual-purpose facilities.
