The relevance of the research is driven by the need to reduce energy consumption of municipal infrastructure, decrease the use of primary energy resources, and increase the energy efficiency of urban engineering systems under growing energy and environmental challenges. Significant amounts of thermal energy contained in wastewater are currently underutilized, which justifies the development of new technical solutions for their recovery. The aim of the project is to develop scientifically grounded approaches for creating highly efficient heat recovery systems based on spiral-wound polymer heat exchangers with enhanced thermophysical properties. Within the first stage of the project, a theoretical and methodological framework was established, a review of current national and international solutions in the fields of heat transfer and polymer materials was carried out, and key directions for further research were identified. A mathematical model for the optimal arrangement of thermally conductive fillers in a thermoplastic matrix was developed, enabling an increase in the effective thermal conductivity of the material while maintaining required physical and mechanical constraints. An optimization algorithm based on numerical methods was proposed. The morphological characteristics of the material components were analyzed, and several compositions of multicomponent thermoplastic materials were formulated. Conceptual designs of a component mixing system and an experimental test bench for a two-phase pumping system were developed to investigate thermo-hydraulic processes in polymer heat exchanger channels.
