Tritici), biotypes of Pyrenophora tritici-repentis, species and strains of Fusarium wilt (Fusarium Link.), Stinking smut (Tilletia sp.) in the south of Ukraine. Their distribution, virulence and aggressiveness will be established. The project will result in lines and varieties of winter wheat with group resistance to rust and smut, powdery mildew, fusarium wilt, pyrenophoresis, with effective resistance genes popup.description2 А comprehensive study of winter wheat pathogens was conducted in Southern Ukraine: Puccinia triticina, Puccinia striiformis, Puccinia graminis f. sp. tritici, Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici, Ustilago tritici, Tilletia caries, Fusarium spp., and Alternaria spp. Dominance of Fusarium graminearum (36%) and F. culmorum (23%) was revealed among Fusarium pathogens, with high aggressiveness. For leaf rust (P. triticina), 70 races were identified, showing high virulence to Lr1–3,10–18 (41–94%) and low to Lr9,19,24,37,42,47 (0–13%). Powdery mildew (Blumeria graminis f. sp. tritici) in 2024–2025 was tested on 57 isolates using Pm-differentiators: high resistance (Pm4a,20,17,25), ineffective (Pm1,2). A new set of differentiators (Pm1a–37) and race coding were developed. Selection from F2–F8 yielded 406 promising F4–F5 lines (2024) and 240 F4–F8 (2025) with complex resistance (Lr34, Sr58, Yr18, Pm38, Bt, Ut, Fhb, Bdv1). Lines 6187, 6125, 6208, 6212, 6265, 6291 showed 0R to rust and 8–9 resistance scores. The studies enable precise pathogen population monitoring, effective breeding of resistant cultivars, and phytosanitary control, boosting wheat yields by 20–40%. These lines are integrated into breeding programs as parental forms at SGI-NCNS. The new cultivar Motyv (Eritrospermum variety, Minagropolicy application №2025012016 dated 28.03.2025) yields 8.6 t/ha, 13.4% protein, flour strength 340 u.а., with group resistance: powdery mildew—8 points, rusts—7–8, bunt—8–9 points.
