Tasks: improvement of forms and methods of training specialists to ensure the high-quality functioning of the intercultural foreign policy system of the state in the context of strengthening its international authority and realizing geopolitical interests as a priority task of higher education institutions of Ukraine. Methods: discursive-cognitive analysis, descriptive method. The main results of the research are related to the definition of speech competencies in distance learning, the formation of perceptual-receptive skills of foreign students during the study of the Ukrainian language, the assimilation by foreign students of semantics and formal representation of noun cases, the analysis of historical changes in the English language, in particular, historical and modern appeal in the English literary text, interrogative and exclamatory sentences of the English language in diachrony, the translator's false friends, etc. The scientific novelty of the research lies in the following: the idea of the essence of the concepts of "foreign language professional communicative competence", "interactivity", "interactive learning" has been clarified and deepened; "concise text"; the pedagogical technology for the formation of foreign language competence of translation students and the mechanism of its implementation using the interactive interval teaching method (both within the framework of contextual, grammatical, and communicative approaches) is theoretically substantiated, developed, and practically tested; the interactive method of teaching a foreign language and translation is considered comprehensively: as a synthesis of cognitive and communicative approaches to achieving foreign language competence.
