Vavilov of the Institute of Pig Breeding and Agro-industrial Production of the National Academy of Agrarian Sciences of Ukraine popup.description1 To theoretically substantiate modern systems of basic tillage in crop rotations of the left-bank Forest-Steppe with efficient use of crop by-products. popup.description2 As a result of the conducted research, it was determined that the application of minimal and zero tillage in short-rotation crop rotation led to an increase in soil hardness in the 0-30 cm layer, where after using the technology with disk tillage, it was higher than the control by 0.2 kg/cm² (9.0%), and after zero tillage with Great Plains, it was higher by 0.4 kg/cm² (18.2%). It was found that the indicators of bulk density in the plow layer at the time of wheat, barley, and corn sowing, as well as soybean planting, were higher under Mini-till treatment (1.21-1.39 kg/cm²) by 3.3–13.1% compared to the conventional tillage (1.15-1.22 g/cm³). The obtained data confirm the leveling of soil density in the horizon of 21-30 cm, regardless of the primary tillage system. The studies demonstrated that the maximum grain yield levels of winter wheat—5.23 t/ha, spring barley—3.39 t/ha, corn—5.0 t/ha, and soybeans—1.53 t/ha were achieved under the conventional tillage system.
