The most significant physical, chemical, and biological impurities were identified, for which maximum permissible concentrations were established, and their main physicochemical characteristics were described. Rational methods for neutralizing harmful contaminants of various origins were determined. It was shown that most technological emissions can be effectively neutralized by ozone and ultraviolet radiation, while mechanical and electrostatic filters with additional UV treatment are advisable for removing particulate matter. An adaptive control algorithm for an automated air purification and disinfection system was developed, and laboratory tests of experimental prototypes were carried out. It was established that the system equipped with an electrochemical ozone sensor, at a заданій value of 100 µg/m³, stably maintains the ozone concentration within the range of 78–98 µg/m³, with an average value of 44.8 ppb. Pilot-industrial prototypes of the automated air purification system SOP-250-4/55oz were manufactured and tested under factory and production conditions, and their technical parameters were confirmed. The efficiency of pathogenic microflora inactivation is at least 99%, while the efficiency of removal of chemical gaseous contaminants ranges from 30 to 100%. In enclosed rooms with a volume of 150 m³, the system maintains a safe ozone concentration that does not exceed the maximum permissible level. In medical facilities, 100% inactivation of microflora in the air and on surfaces was confirmed, as evidenced by reports of production tests. To enable serial production, proposals for structural and functional improvements of SOP systems and for the development of a standardized size range were prepared.
