More than 75% of animals of all analyzed breeds had additive inheritance by offspring and only from 13.8 to 23.1% had maternal, paternal dominance or regression. The coefficient of heritability of cow milk yield, depending on the breed and the farm where the study was conducted, was h2=0.142-0.231. According to the content and amount of milk fat, h2 = 0.297-0.475 and h2 = 0.350-0.486, respectively. The profit and profitability of crossbred cows were higher than among their peers from Holstein breeders. The payback period for raising a first-born calf was reduced and, depending on the farm, was 0.9 to 1.6 lactations. The cost of raising a Holstein first-born cow was recovered in 1.2-1.9 lactations. This indicator depended on the farms where the research was conducted (different costs of maintenance), so it is advisable to draw conclusions about the effectiveness of crossbreeding within each farm.
