Research methods – informational-monographic, abstract-logical; field, laboratory-analytical; computational-constructive; cartographic, mathematical modeling, statistical. Analysis of literary sources indicates the growing relevance of scientific research devoted to the theory and practical application of electromagnetic methods of surface study in soil science and agronomy. Such methods include vertical electrical studiing, electromagnetic induction (for determining soil electrical conductivity), and reflectometry (for assessing moisture content, etc.). It has been shown that in soil science, these methods are used to study the genesis, spatial heterogeneity and properties of soil cover, while in agronomy, they enable qualitative and quantitative monitoring of moisture content, water regime dynamics, salinity, and other parameters important for crop production. Of particular importance is the study of redox potential of the soil, which is functionally related to the water regime and reflects the genetic characteristics of soils, their landscape position, and plant nutrition conditions. In the course of the work, a method for establishing a geoelectric profile was developed and the relationship between the radial and lateral redistribution of soil electrical resistance and its moisture content was determined.
