The purpose of the work is to develop theoretical foundations for spatial assessment of the hydrological function of eroded soils in agricultural landscapes and its optimization on a basin basis. Research methods include field and laboratory studies, statistical analysis, mathematical modeling. Research is based on the application of methods of mathematical analysis, geomorphological and systematic analysis, and statistical surveys. Erosion studies involve the analysis of relief and the distribution of potential washout values (according to DSTU 7904). Based on the results of the work, a database of mathematical models of moisture migration in various agrocenoses of agricultural landscapes was prepared and quantitative parameters of the hydrological properties of soils and natural and anthropogenic factors of loss and moisture accumulation were outlined. A model and hypersurface of the hydrological function of the ecological organization of watersheds were developed. Based on the results of processing the hypersurface of the moisture regime on the elements of the agricultural landscape, a system of organizational measures for optimizing the hydrological function of watersheds by hierarchical levels was developed: river basin → basin watersheds. The system consists of application criteria and a list of organizational measures and principles for their selection and interaction for 3 territorial levels: ravine, ravine group, and basin. The information presented allows for the optimization of planning and implementation of measures to reduce soil loss from erosion and improve moisture conditions. A scientific and methodological guidebook was compiled, entitled “System of organizational measures for optimizing the hydrological function of watersheds by hierarchical levels: river basin → gully watersheds” (Appendix A).
