Keywords: irrigation system, distribution canal, pumping station, pumping unit, water supply management, pipeline network, regulating reservoir. Object – process of water supply and inter-farm water distribution in canals with a main pumped water intake. Purpose – rational use of water and efficient consumption of electric energy in irrigation systems, minimization of non-technological water discharges from the inter-farm network during its modernization using pipelines with regulating reservoirs at the intakes of pumping stations. Research is based on the methods of systems analysis, mathematical statistics, control systems theory, hydraulics, and field experiments using modern measuring equipment. Report presents generalized results of studies on the statistical characteristics of water distribution management processes in inter-farm canals under daily electricity tariff conditions. A technological scheme of water supply using a pipeline tract with regulating reservoirs at pumping station intakes has been developed, aimed at minimizing non-technological discharges and improving water use efficiency. A methodology for determining the hydraulic and structural characteristics of a pipeline water distribution network with regulating reservoirs has been developed. Transient processes of water supply and water distribution control were studied, and an algorithm and a mathematical model of an automated water supply control system were developed. The selection of automatic water level control systems under multi-tariff electricity accounting conditions has been substantiated. Results have been implemented in the Basin Water Resources Management Authority of the Black Sea coastal rivers and the Lower Danube. Economic effect is achieved by reducing the energy intensity of water supply by 35–50%. The results form the basis for methodological recommendations on the modernization of irrigation water distribution networks. Product Description popup.authors Viktor M. Popov Tetiana V.
