Lifetime productivity and longevity, together with their impact on economic indicators, are closely linked to the breeding process, as the most valuable animals for both production and breeding programs are those in which these two traits are successfully combined. High lifetime productivity in cows reflects breeding value, and with prolonged farm use, they produce more offspring, thereby increasing the proportion of animals with valuable genotypes in the herd. In the efficiency of animal use, exterior plays a key role, as harmoniously developed individuals are least susceptible to the risk of premature removal from the herd due to insufficient adaptation to intensive technology conditions and tend to have high milk productivity. Based on the results of linear assessment of the exterior, the evaluation and selection of cow mothers, the evaluation and selection of bulls according to the body type of their daughters, and selection for orders to obtain replacement bulls are carried out. Considering the results of linear description also allows for corrective pairing to eliminate certain exterior defects in the offspring through the proper choice of partner. Preserving, consolidating, and enhancing positive qualities of the parents in the offspring simultaneously corrects their defects and creates new combinations of traits.
