The subject of the study was the theoretical and applied principles of conducting a forensic economic examination on issues related to determining the amount of misuse of budget funds in the field of public procurement and loss of assets as a result of violation of budget and procurement legislation. The work analyzed the dynamics of public procurement for the period 2022 - 2024; examined the significance of public procurement in the budget sector; presented the problems that arise for customers in the field of public procurement; formulated the concept of the subject of expertise of this category; indicated the list of documents - objects of study by forensic economic examination; summarized methodological approaches. The scientific novelty consists in developing an algorithm for conducting a forensic economic examination on issues related to determining the amount of misuse of budget funds in the field of public procurement and the loss of customers' assets due to non-compliance with the requirements of budget and procurement legislation. The development of a methodology for conducting research to determine the amount of losses due to violations by customers and participants in the procurement process of the requirements of current legislation in the field of public procurement will reduce the complexity and timeliness of research.
