The research object is the professional development of teaching staff in military educational institutions and units. The aim of the study is to enhance instructors’ English-language professional communicative competence to ensure effective teaching of specialized subjects in English within an international professional context. The methodological framework is based on contemporary higher education pedagogy, professionally oriented foreign-language instruction, and the integrated content-and-language approach. The study employed theoretical methods (analysis of normative documents and scholarly sources, generalization of domestic and foreign experience) and empirical methods (questionnaires). No special technical tools were used; data processing was performed with standard office software. The outcome of the study is a methodology for improving English-language professional communicative competence based on the integration of linguistic, communicative, and professional training, as well as the structure and content of a professional development course aimed at preparing instructors for teaching subjects in English, explaining professional concepts, and organizing instructional interaction. Methodical recommendations for the use of authentic materials were developed. The scientific novelty lies in combining the integrated content-and-language approach with instructor training requirements, with results tested and ready for implementation in military education and professional foreign-language training.
