As a result of this study, we identified the following patterns: 1. A bullet with a lethal kinetic energy (E>80 J) in the range of effective target damage can theoretically damage the soft tissues of the cranial vault and the skull in the form of incomplete or depressed fractures only in the form of a tangential wound. 2.In case of single non-penetrating single shrapnel blind wounds of cylindrical shape, wound channels are formed due to the transformation of small kinetic energy of shock wave action of the fragment, which has a rectilinear direction, therefore single non-penetrating shrapnel blind wounds of soft tissues of the cranial vault are most often punctate and wound channels are small in size both in length and width, and the bottom of the wound is an incomplete, perforated or depressed fracture. Pathomorphologically, such wounds do not have a zone of secondary necrosis, and the zone of primary necrosis is small or insignificant, which allows not to excise the soft tissues around the wound during primary surgical treatment, but to limit oneself to the removal of necrotic tissues and significantly expands the possibility of applying a primary suture.3.In case of non-penetrating multiple shrapnel blind wounds with a directed beam of shrapnel, multiple soft tissue injuries occurred in one or two anatomical areas, with the presence of multiple shrapnel blind wound channels. 4. In case of explosions of directed shrapnel mines, non-penetrating shrapnel craniocerebral injuries were most likely observed at a distance of 62 m to 96 m from the epicenter of the MOP-50 mine explosion Product Description popup.authors Oleksandr O.
