The object of the scientific research is international legal means of implementing the norms of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court regarding criminal prosecution for international crimes. The subject of the scientific research is the Law of Ukraine “On Amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes of Ukraine in Connection with the Ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and Amendments Thereto”.The main tasks of the research work are determined taking into account the specifics of the purpose and subject of the study: – to consider the legal principles of the implementation of the international legal norms of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court regarding criminal prosecution for international crimes; – to provide a general description of Article 31-1 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine, which ensures the introduction of the institute of command responsibility into Ukrainian criminal legislation; – to reveal the features of the responsibility of military commanders, other persons who actually act as military commanders, and other superiors; – to characterize the crime of aggression (Article 437 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine); – to explain the content of the forms of committing a crime provided for in Part 1 of Article 438 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine. Results obtained: a scientific and practical commentary was prepared dedicated to the analysis of the Law of Ukraine "On Amendments to the Criminal and Criminal Procedure Codes of Ukraine in connection with the ratification of the Rome Statute of the International Criminal Court and its amendments."
