RADIATION, DOSE, EXPOSURE, RADIATION SAFETY, RADIONUCLIDES, PHYSICAL PROTECTION, NUCLEAR ENERGY Object — requirements for equipment for the detection and identification of radionuclides in the environment for the purpose of assessing the radiation situation at the site of a radiation emergency. Subject — methods for monitoring radiation situation indicators at the site of a radiation accident and instruments for their determination. Purpose — to determine general requirements for equipment for detecting radionuclides in the environment under emergency conditions, assessing the equivalent dose rate of ionizing radiation, and determining the ambient equivalent and direct exposure dose. A set of general scientific and specialized research methods was applied in the study, namely: analysis (identification of requirements for ensuring radiation safety and functioning of radionuclide detection equipment from regulatory legal acts); synthesis (integration of provisions of regulatory documents and scientific sources to develop harmonized requirements for radiation monitoring instruments); generalization; abstract-logical method (to determine the content, structure, and interrelation of the main requirements for radionuclide detection equipment in the context of response to radiation accidents). Results of the study: draft DSTU EN 60846-2:202_ (EN 60846-2:2018, IDT; IEC 60846-2:2015, IDT) Radiation protection instrumentation — ambient and/or directional dose equivalent (rate) meters and/or monitors for beta, X and gamma radiation. Part 2: High range beta and photon dose and dose rate portable instruments for emergency radiation protection purposes and DSTU EN 62327:202_ (EN IEC 62327:2019) Radiation protection instrumentation — hand-held instruments for the detection and identification of radionuclides and for the estimation of ambient dose equivalent rate from photon radiation.
