The core idea is to employ the cold gas-dynamic spraying method for metal powders, followed by laser or thermal treatment to synthesize intermetallics – compounds with unique mechanical properties. The optimal operating regimes of supersonic nozzles were substantiated using modern computational fluid dynamics (CFD) and an analytical model. The study of temperature-velocity parameters revealed that traditional calculation methods can yield significant errors by neglecting atmospheric air entrainment; therefore, a methodology for validating the analytical model to quantify these calculation errors was proposed. Nickel-based coatings were experimentally obtained on the VT9 titanium alloy, characterized by high density and an absence of defects. It was found that the adhesion strength of the coating to the substrate is 30.2 MPa, which exceeds the established industry standards by a factor of two. The high hardness of the resulting layers (up to 290 HV) ensures effective surface protection against wear under harsh operating conditions. Additionally, an analysis of coating stability under internal stresses was conducted, allowing for the prediction of their reliability. The research results are of strategic importance to the Ukrainian aviation industry, as they establish a foundation for addressing the urgent problem of surface friction and wear, as well as for restoring expensive parts and reducing dependence on imported components.
