Burns caused by chemicals are serious and differ from thermal burns in their development mechanisms. Existing medical care protocols contain general recommendations, not taking into account the specifics of chemical burns. This is primarily due to insufficient study of the pathogenesis of chemical burns and the features of tissue regeneration after this type of damage. The aim of the project is to study the development and regeneration of chemical burn injuries using carbon nanocomposites with different surface chemistry. The tasks include developing a model of chemical burns, determining systemic manifestations and early markers of burn injuries, and developing carbon nanocomposites with fluorescent, anti-inflammatory, and antiproliferative properties. By assessing the ability of nanocomposites to accumulate and distribute in the body, we hope to determine the optimal mode of their use to accelerate the healing of chemical burn lesions and reduce systemic consequences. In the process of implementing the project, a model of burn lesions caused by various chemical agents will be developed, and its main systemic manifestations and markers will be determined, which will provide a new tool for researching medications with specific action. Compounds will be developed that can specifically affect different stages of burn development and resolution, which will improve the treatment of chemical burns in the future. Based on the analysis of the toxicity and effectiveness of carbon nanocomposites with different surface chemistry, methods for assessing the biological activity of compounds of this type will be improved and adapted, and general principles for their modification will be created to achieve a specific biological effect.
