Head Mykhailiuk Pavlo K., Доктор хімічних наук Registration Date 03-03-2026 Organization Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv popup.description1 Investigate the fundamental problem of chemo-, regio- and stereoselectivity of organic reactions, which will allow open the way to the controlled synthesis of new biologically active compounds for the needs of medical chemistry, agrochemistry, etc. popup.description2 The project is aimed at solving the problem of chemo-, regio- and stereoselectivity of organic reactions, which will open the way to the targeted synthesis of new biologically active compounds for the needs of medicine, in particular new anesthetics - benzocaine analogues with different strength and duration of anesthetic action, which should allow choosing the necessary strength and duration of action of the agent for anesthesia in each specific case without the introduction of additional doses, which is extremely important both in medical evacuation and rehabilitation, and for providing timely and effective first aid on the battlefield (topic 15). The goal and objectives of the project: to investigate the fundamental problem of chemo-, regio- and stereoselectivity of organic reactions, which will open the way to the controlled synthesis of new biologically active compounds for the needs of medical chemistry, agrochemistry, etc. High selectivity of chemical reactions is a determining condition for the creation of modern medicines. The study of the influence of various factors (electronic and steric factors, UV radiation, catalysts, temperature, solvents, reagent ratios, etc.) on the selectivity of the course of chemical processes will allow creating scientific principles for targeted control of such processes. Analysis of the found patterns will allow developing a strategy for an approach to both the selective synthesis of new biologically active compounds and controlled functionalization for fine-tuning the characteristics of the physicochemical profile. The development of effective preparative methods for the synthesis of target compounds will allow obtaining them in quantities necessary for solving problems in related industries.
