Smith Swing Time (2016), I. McEwen Machines Like Me (2019), K. Ishiguro Klara and the Sun (2021), C. Whitehead The Underground Railroad (2016), G. Saunders Lincoln in the Bardo (2017), R. Powers The Overstory (2018). The purpose of the first stage is to familiarize yourself with literary sources related to the topic of the work. 51 literary sources were considered. Universal features of literary motifs and images, their peculiarities of functioning in English-language novels of the first quarter of the 21st century have been revealed. Elements of archetypal analysis, along with other methodological techniques, are most often present in modern literary research as one of the aspects of general poetics. Home, way and child in the mythopoetic plane are fundamental archetypes at all levels (psychological, general cultural, etc.), and, given their frequency, they also dominate in a literary and artistic work. At the beginning of the 21st century, the motifs and images of home, way, and child are filled with new features. The “home” ceases to be perceived as an exclusively “private” locus, even if it has absorbed all the wealth of the souls of its inhabitants; additional inclusions appear, most often of an existential universal plan. The archetype of home does not lose its significance, but on the contrary, its universal cultural and universal human character is emphasized in it. The literature of the postmodern era, with its “sensitivity” to the surrounding world, that is, the desire to outline the problems of the widest range (philosophical, historical, and others), continues to include the “home” in the complex context of existence. Despite the fact that mythopoetic consciousness ontologically always contained ambivalent properties of archetypes. The results of the research were published in an article in a leading scientific professional publication. Product Description popup.authors popup.nrat_date 2026-03-06 Close
