Head Golubov Oleksii А., Доктор фізико-математичних наук Registration Date 09-03-2026 Organization V.N. Karazin Kharkiv National University popup.description1 The project is dedicated to researching the mechanisms of asteroids from the main asteroid belt transitioning to orbits that approach Earth through Kirkwood gaps, from which resonant perturbations by planets efficiently eject asteroids. In the course of the project, numerical simulations of asteroid motion within the Kirkwood gaps will be conducted for the first time, fully accounting for non-gravitational effects such as the Yarkovsky and YORP effects, depending on surface roughness. This will allow for the most accurate assessment of the rates of replenishment of the near-Earth asteroid population up to the present day. Based on refined criteria for classifying mineralogical types using data from new surveys of the celestial sky from both space and ground-based observations, a complete picture of the taxonomic diversity of asteroids near Kirkwood gaps will be obtained. The results obtained will subsequently enhance the reliability of asteroid impact predictions with Earth, help develop a methodology for deflecting potentially hazardous asteroids, and can be used to select asteroids with specified properties as targets for space missions. popup.description2 An improved theoretical model of the Yarkovsky effect has been developed that accounts for the thermal properties of the asteroid’s surface. Due to correcting a factor-of-two error present in all previous formulas for the Yarkovsky effect at low thermal inertias since the 1990s, the new theory significantly surpasses all existing analogues in accuracy. The model of asteroid dynamics under the influence of the YORP effect has been refined; in particular, a generalized model of the dynamical evolution of binary asteroids has been developed. An analysis of observational data on the distribution of the orbital parameters of asteroid family members has been carried out. A program for numerical modeling of the dynamics of asteroid families has been created, taking into account the Yarkovsky and YORP effects as well as planetary gravitational perturbations. The distributions of the orbital parameters of family-member asteroids have been compared with the results of numerical simulations. Product Description popup.authors Ihor I. Kyrylenĸo Yehor S.
