Such a system is necessary for effective management of the selection process in dairy cattle of Ukraine at the level of world standards in the context of FAO recommendations popup.description2 The database of the DBMS “State Breeding Register” has been replenished. About 1087 reports have been entered. The annual editions of the State Breeding Register, Volumes I and II for 2023-2024, have been prepared for printing. The information database “State Register of Breeding Subjects in Animal Husbandry” has been structured, and an analysis has been conducted on the availability of breeding stock, breed composition, productivity and reproduction. The information database of controlled herds of breeding subjects in dairy cattle breeding has been verified (29 breeding subjects in animal husbandry). The information database on breeding and controlled herds of breeding subjects in livestock breeding (207 herds, 611,421 cows) and the database of breeding bulls of dairy and dairy-meat breeds of breeding enterprises of Ukraine were replenished using the SUMS software "Intesel-Orsek", which includes data on the assessment of the origin and breeding value of 59,072 breeding bulls. Catalogs of dairy and dairy-meat breeds were formed for the reproduction of the breeding stock in 2023-2025. The breed composition of breeding bulls, distribution by methods of assessing breeding value and genetic markers were analyzed. An organizational and technological scheme for collecting, processing and analyzing information on the characteristics of economically useful and functional traits of dairy animals was developed. "Recommendations on the functioning of the breeding and information system for improving breeding resources of dairy breeds based on economically useful and functional characteristics" have been prepared.
