It was established that the inheritance of breeding value by milk yield (intermediate and dominance of parents) was in 82.2% of bulls, and the non-additive form - in 17.8%, including: overdominance 13.5% and regression - 4.2%. The ratio of inheritance forms depends on the level of breeding value of parents and the intensity of their selection. The advantage of purebred breeding ("in itself") compared to the further use of Holstein bulls was established. The most intensive growth of live weight of heifers, higher milk productivity and reproductive ability of cows were observed in animals from the analytical interbreeding with the Montbeliard breed. It was established that the share of genomically evaluated Holstein bulls for reproduction of the breeding stock in Ukraine is constantly increasing - from 6.6% (year 2015) to 54% (year 2024). It was found that with the general trend of the prevailing decrease in the breeding value of breeding animals based on progeny evaluations compared to the genomic forecast, some bulls noticeably increase it. In terms of milk yield, the breeding value based on progeny (12%) prevailed over that, in terms of milk fat content – 32.6%, in terms of protein content – 27.1%. The value of the selection index obtained by the genomic evaluation method is repeated only at the level of 55.6%. To conduct targeted breeding work with the mass of Holstein cattle, the “Program for the Selection of the Holstein Breed in Ukraine until 2032” has been developed. "Recommendations for the evaluation and selection of model animals in dairy cattle breeding", "The use of patterns of inheritance of milk productivity traits in cattle breeding", analytical materials "Method of genomic prediction of breeding value. Analytical material on the state and prospects of further breeding work with domestic dairy breeds has been prepared, a monograph "Scientific and organizational principles of breeding work in dairy cattle breeding of Ukraine".
