Aim: The study was designed to examine the effectiveness of long-term differentially chosen therapy lasting over three years. Methods: Bicycle ergometry, tetrapolar chest rheography, pneumotachometry, biochemical measurments. Equipment: Electrocardiograph 6-NEK, bicycle ergometer " Elema EM-369", Mediana-1, automatic analyser " Exan-G", aggregometer " Thrombolite-1006 BA". Results: Differentially chosen antyanginal drug and its dose produced a marked stable effect in long-term therapy. It did not exert adverse effects on serum lipids and plasma glucose levels, rheological properties of the blood, and bronchial patency. Novelty: For the first time it was assessed the choice of an antianginal drug by means of paired bicycle exercise tests in elderly people and it was ascertained the effectiveness of long-term treatment with this pharmacological preparetion. Effectiveness: An increase in effectiveness and a decrease in the number of side-effects were shown. Field of application: Geriatrics, cardiology and internal medicine.
