The objective of the work is to develop and approve mathe- matical models to choose the ways for improving the freight cars bogies. Research methods - methods for mathematical and computer simulating, vib- ration theories and motion stability. Obtained results - structure sche- mes of today's and future freight car trucks and spring suspension ele- ments are analyzed, an estimating scheme and a mathematical model for mo- tion of freight car on the track of unspecified contour in the plan in consideration of changed bogy truck couplings as well as dry friction for- ces affected axle box openings are pointed out. Novelty of the results is to estimate ar influence on dynamics of the car for insfallation of spherical pivots and elactic and frictional slipers. The developed ma- thematical models and software will be used in the work on improvement of freight car runnig gears structures. Area of indroduction of the works results is railway transport.
