In the framework of the existing technology for recovering by-products the problem can be solved by eliminating a direct contact of the water to be closed at the cooling tower with coke oven gas. Preferential versions of closing are given - direct cooling of coke oven gas by circulating process water cooled in shell-and-tube coolers by process water, - cooling of coke oven gas in tube cooler through the wall.
