The purpose of the work - an improvement of the manufacture technology of corundum castable of brands СКпл-50-90 and СКпл-60-92. Research methods - chemical, petrographycal and thermomechanical. Laboratory investigations of an influence of a number of technological factors (grain composition of largegrained filler, type of finely milled component and the size of the particles) on the properties of corundum castable mixtures of brands СКпл-50-90 and СКпл-60-92 as well as the value of specific surface of a binder for the castable mixture of brand СКпл-60-92 were carried out. An employment possibility in the finely milled component of castable mixtures of brands СКпл-50-90 and СКпл-60-92 of vibratory milled alumina ГК-2 instead of vibratory milled corundum is shown as well as optimum grain composition of abovementioned mixtures was developed that allowed to increase the compression strength by 2 times. In OJSC "The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A.S.Berezhnoy" trial lots of corundum castable of the brand СКпл-50-90 and corundum castable of the brand СКпл-60-92 which were transferred to the possesion of metallurgical and machinebuilding plants of the Ukraine.
