The work purpose - is the manufacture technology improvement for reactors intended for technical carbon manufacture. Research methods and apparatus - chemical, petrographycal, thermogravimetrical. Comparative investigations of strength characteristics and main indices of properties of the corundumcastable on highalumine cement with an addition and without addition of Cr2O3, castable from low cement rammed mix and castable on a combined binder with an addition of Cr2O3 depending on the time span of hydration hardening (3, 7, 28 complete days) and the firing temperature were realized. It was established that after forming the most high indices of properties - open porosity = 21,3%, apparent=3,06 g/cm3, compression=138 MPa are typlcal for the castable from low cement mix but at the temperature 1750oC the shrinkage is equal to -0,5%. Unshrinkable (growth 0,5 - 0,6%) castables on highalumina cement without addition ( open porosity=22,3%, apparent=3,0 g/cm3, compression=109 VPa) and with an addition of Cr2O3 ( open porosity=21,9%, apparent=3,01g/cm3, compression = 111MPa) have similar indices of properties. As introduction in the castable composition of combined binder with addition and with out addition of Cr2O3 ensures shaping a dense structure ( open porosity=22,9 and 23,5%, apparent=2,99g/cm3, compression=107 and 110 MPa as well. In accordance with the research results trial lots of the corundum castable of brands CКБГ and СКБГХ for the lining of a working loyer of reactors for the manufacture of the technical carbon were produced. The drafts of a change N 1 for ТУ У 14-7-168-2000 and ТИ were worked out. The scientific work was introduced in the O.J.S.C."The Ukrainian research institute of refractories named after A.S.Berezhnoy" The scientific work should be continued for the purpose of producing a trial lot of the castable using a combinel binder with improved indised of properties of the castable and its testing in the service.
