Work purpose is the broadening of natural raw material basis for the manufacture of mullite corundum castable mix. Thermomechnical,chemical and petrographycal methods of research were used during an accomplishment of this work. Investigation of mullitecorundum castable after the service in the tuyere apperatus of the blast furnace of OJSC "MK"Azovstal" was carred out . The main destruction factors of the castable lining were ascertained. The research was carried out as well as a new composition of mullite corundum mix on the basis of kaoline chomotte of the brend ШК-1and electrocorundum was worked out. The trial somple characterized by the compression strength after 7 full days of the hardening and thermal treatment at 1450о C is 58 - 62 and 61 - 71 MPa, open porosity 20 -21% thermel conductivity is up to 1,7 Wt/m.k, shrinkoge is 0,04 - 0,05 %,thermal shock resistance is > 25 heat cycles, mass share of Al2O3 is 73,0%, Fe2O3 - 0,6%. The drafts of the technical instruction and technical, were worked out as well as the trial lot of developed mix was produced and it was transferred to the possession of a custoneer for testing.
