The measuring of active and common oxygen and nitrogen contents at different stage of ladle treatment of steel in open-hearth furnaces of NTZ were carried out. After results of active oxygen content measuring, the effects of technological parameters of deoxidation and teeming on active oxygen content and common gas-saturation of wheel steel was established. The possibilities of technological processes improvement of deoxidation process for given chemical compound of steel with reduced content of oxygen and nitrogen were found.
