Object - the population still living in the most highly contaminated with radionuclides areas of the Ukraine (145.3 thousand in 2001). Results: The data analysis for 2001 confirmed the tendency to increase of cancer incidence rate that was identified in the area under study. Radiation induced thyroid cancer cases are still being registered. Increase of incidence rates of leukaemia and lymphoma, breast and prostate cancer cannot be associated with radiation.
