This was experinentally confirmed by the investigation of coke produced in different coking units at the OJSC "Markokhim" fron coal blends of varions composition with different coking periods. The influence of sodiume compounds on the reactivity and thermomechanical properties was studies. Technological and ecological concepts accepted at the Coke Works for treatment of spent liquor at the arsenic-soda sulphur removal shop were experimentally proven. Recommendations were developed to provide an afficient level of coke reactivity and thermomechanical strength. The economic saving through to the use of the research work lies in less damage and the redution of fines for pollution due to prevention of sulphur dioxides emissions into the atmospere.
