Work purpose - the perfection of calcium hexaluminate lightweight refractories technology and the production of trial lots. Research methods - chemical, petrographical, physicomechanical, roentgenphase, thermophysical, mercury porosimetry. Investigations on perfecting the technology were carried out. A lightweight material with apparent density 0,8-1,0 g/cm3 and compression strength 2-2,5 MPa was produced. An influence of different additions on synthesis of calcium hexaluminate in lightweight materials and their thermal shock resistance was researched. It was established that samples of lightweightmaterials with phase composition CA6-A-CA2 possess a higher thermal shock resistence. In accordance with a reseach results of physico-mechanical and thermal physical properties of hexaluminate lightweight materials of different apparent density a conclusion has been drawn that thermal physical properties of lightweight materials depend not only on apparent density but on phase composition and distribution of pores as to sizes in a lightweight material. It was shown that hexaluminate lightweigh tmaterial with a minimum amount of pores lesser than 10 m has a minimum thermal conductivity and an amount of pores makes up 99%. The technological research on the manufacture heatinsulatung porous aggregates of calcium hexaluminate composition was carried out and a castable with appar. 1,6 g/cm3 and comp. up to 10MPa after 7 complete days of hardeming for the service tempeture up to 1500 C was produced. In accordance with contracts trial lots of calcium hexaluminate lightweight products of ГАКЛ-1,3 and corundum brands KLA-1,3 were produced as wells as they were transferred to the possession of customers. The work should be continued for the purpose of putting into production a manufacture technology of calcium hexaluminate lightweight materials with foam forming additions having apparent density 0,8 - 1,0 g/cm3 as well asheasinsulation castables development using as aggregate a grog of calcium hexaluminate lightweight materials and for the purpose of broadening an employment sites.
