The aim of the investigation is to study the effect of cancer on the female population of the rural areas of Ukraine and develop the ways of improving the oncological service for the afflicted persons of this population. The methods of investigation are the methods of informatics, descriptive epidemiology, and systems and components analysis. It is determined that during the period 1990-2003 stable decrease of the adequate provision of rural population with medical institutions of all levels is observed, the decrease of number of beds is 54.1 %. The reducing of number of beds of oncological institutions of the 3rd level caused the decreased provision of the population with beds for the oncological patients per 8.9 %. Studying of age-specified cancer incidence shows the most increase of cancer incidence rates in groups of population aged 1-4, 50-54 and 80-84. It is determined that the leading places in the structure of cancer incidence take breast cancer, cancer of stomach, skin, cervix of uteri and body of uteri, which cover combined 52.7 % of all cancer cases.
