Research methods - chemical, petrographical, roentgenphase analyseses of initial components composed of castable mixes and castable on their basis. Laboratorial - technological investigations were carried for the purpose of researching of the content influence of highalumina cement of ВГЦ-73 brand in combination with finely milled alumina of ГК-2 brand and alumina of СТС-40 brand on the strength during the compression of unfired samples of a low cement castable without Cr2O3 addition of 5 % Cr2O3 after hydratation solidification within 3,7 and 28 complete days as well as on the main indices of properties of these castables after firings at temperature 1400, 1580 and 1750 о C. As a result of these investigations a low cement corundum castable without addition of Cr2O3 was worked - out containing 5% of highalumina cement of the brand ВГЦ-73 in combination of ГК-2 brand and with alumina of СТС-40brand which is characterized by high indices of properties and intended for the lining of reactors for the technical carbon manufacture. The main indices of unfired samples properties of comparatively researched as well as of fired at temperature 1400, 1580 and 1750 о C were determined. In O.J.S.C " Ukrniio named after A.S.Berezhnoy" in accordance with TI 24-IO-96-2003 trial lots of corundum castable mix of СКБГ, СКБГХ, СКБГХ-1 were produced. Produced castable mixes of these brands as to indices of properties are in line with requirements ТУ У 14-7-168-2000 with a change N 1 and they were delivered to consumers in a certain amount for carrying out a working layer of lining of reactors intended the manufacture of technical carbon.
