The purpose of work: improvement of large dimension corundum with zircon addition refractories technology, the development of new types of refractories for lining glass-melting furnaces and pilot lots production. Methods of research: chemical and petrographic analysis; standard methods for determining apparent density, open porosity, ultimate strength under compression and high-temperature creep.The workings to improve the technology of manufacturing of corundum with zircon addition refractories have been conducted out; the influence of diluting additives on the properties of masses for manufacturing large dimension corundum chrome-oxide refractories and corundum with zircon addition refractories as well as the properties of burned samples were analyzed. The advantage ADS and ADW in using as diluting additives instead of ГКЖ-11 has been shown. Engineering developments to produce corundum chrome-oxiderefractories have been conducted. As a result the technology of manufacturing by means of vibrate casting of corundum chrome-oxide refractories intended for the roof arches of glass furnaces has been developed. The results obtained were used for the pilot lots manufacturing of new large-dimension corundum refractories with zircon addition as well as of corundum chrome-oxide refractories. It is necessary to proceed with the research focused on corrosion stability of the corundum chrome-oxide refractories and their resistance to molten glass effect as well as to reduce the afterflow of these refractories used for roof arches of glass furnaces.
