The aim of the research is systematic study of the speech in Roman and German languages, the description of its qualities among up-to-date achievements in the sphere of pragmalinguistics, social linguistics and cognitive linguistics. The methods of the research are semantic and pragmatic interpretation of discourse, text research, speech act and conceptual analysis, elements of the statistic method. The results of the scientific research: We summarized the statement about communicative strategy of uncertainty, question-answer dialogical unity in contemporary English dialogical discourse, the development of the phatic metacommunication system in the English discourse of the 16-20th cc. and stereotypic speech behaviour of the Victorian woman. We present also the results of the studies in the complex cognitive nature of the JOY concept and the cultural concept GOD in English discourse.
